We recognize the benefit and immense impact of the clinical supervision we have received from others throughout our careers, and welcome the opportunity to mentor other therapists in their own growth and development. We provide supervision for two primary groups of therapists:
LCMHCAs in North Carolina who are working toward full licensure
Licensed therapists who are working toward their Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) credential
Contact us for more information about supervision services, and we can discuss your needs further!

We routinely engage with other providers and practices to provide education and training around eating disorders assessment and treatment, and are available to provide consultation to other clinicians regarding your own clinical work.

Our Areas of Expertise
Eating Disorders
Is your relationship with food or your body getting in the way of living the life you want? Many individuals struggle with eating disorders and related thoughts and behaviors. We provide a safe and non-judgmental space to help you understand these concerns and create a plan to help you begin making changes.
We have experience treating a variety of eating disorder presentations and diagnoses, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, ARFID, and Binge Eating Disorder. Not sure if what you are experiencing is an eating disorder? We are able to provide thorough diagnostic assessments to help clarify your needs and make treatment recommendations.
Life Transitions
Throughout life, individuals experience a variety of changes and transitions that can be difficult to adjust to. Perhaps you are a new mom trying to navigate your new role and find a balance. Maybe you are a college student adapting to the many changes that come with leaving home. Or, you might be going through a loss or change that you weren’t expecting, and you aren’t quite sure how to cope.
Whatever life transition you are experiencing, we know that sometimes having a safe place to talk through your experience and receive support can be helpful.
Relationships
Are you and your partner having difficulty communicating? Are you struggling to feel understood or as connected as you’d like to be? We can help you better understand your relationship patterns and develop new skills to improve those dynamics.
General Mental Health
Whether you are experiencing new symptoms that you want to better understand, have long standing concerns that you are looking for new skills to manage, or are looking for a therapist to work with on overall personal growth, we are able to help with a wide range of concerns.
Therapy for Clinicians
As therapists, we recognize the unique needs of healthcare professionals. Whether you are looking to take care of your own mental health needs, increase your own insight, or build resiliency and address burnout, we provide a safe and confidential space to help you continue to be an effective helper.
What to Expect from Therapy Services
Your initial session will typically be scheduled for 90 minutes, so that we have sufficient time to explore the concerns that lead you to schedule and to gather all of the information needed to begin working together. Follow up sessions will typically be scheduled for 50 minutes each week, though we are happy to discuss your desired session length and frequency to ensure we are best meeting your needs.
Insurance and Fees
True North Wellness is considered an out-of-network provider by most insurance carriers, meaning we are not directly contracted with any insurance providers and do not bill insurance directly. We recognize that the step to seek counseling is an important one, and we believe that everyone should be able to access counseling services. Our fees are listed below, as well as information about ways that you may be able to access your insurance benefits if the cost of services on their own is potentially prohibitive.
Most insurance plans have out-of-network benefits, which may allow you to receive reimbursement for a portion of the cost of treatment. You are encouraged to contact your insurance provider to ask questions about your specific out-of-network benefits, including:
Does my current insurance plan cover out-of-network mental health or behavioral health services?
Do I have a deductible for my out-of-network mental health services? How much of my deductible have I met?
What does my insurance plan cover for any mental health services that I receive from an out-of-network provider?
What is the process for submitting a claim for out-of-network mental health service reimbursement?
If you would like to request out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance provider, you will be responsible for the full session fee at the time of your appointment, and we will provide you with a detailed statement (a superbill) that you may use to file for reimbursement if you choose. We are not able to verify out-of-network benefits for clients directly. There are also several services available to clients (check out Reimbursify, Mentaya, and Thrizer as a few potential options) to simplify the reimbursement request process for a fee.
